Potential. But frustrating.

Well, I've played a lot of poker over the past few days. Went to two live tournaments at the weekend and final tabled both earning me a total of £130- ok, but it could have been a lot lot more.

Friday was moron night at napoleons, a (wait for it) £10 pot limit tournament with unlimited rebuys for 2 hours, starting chipstack 1k, with blinds at 100/100 for the duration of the rebuy period. Basically, If you hit your hand, you will get paid unless someone outdraws you. Cut a long story short, ended 6th after I ran AQs into 77 twice in two consecutive hands.

Saturday however was possibly the best tournament poker I've played, against people who know how to play. To make things even more interesting, there were 4 quads that night, two of them on my table., including a hand going thus..

First to act raises with 77, gets called by 88 and JJ. Flop comes 784. All in. Turn. 7.chip

And this one.

UTG raises with A3s, Kylan reraises with AA, mini stack pushes with 85o for some value. Flop xx3 Turn: 3. River. 3.

I was picking some nice spots to raise on shit, and later on, there was a 3 way monster pot which I managed to win become chip leader.

UTG raises with 99, really stupid woman player (who incidentally MIN raised my big blind a few times and put me on epic tilt) calls this large raise with A10, and I move in with AKclubs. Flop came two clubs and managed to hit on the river, though it must be said I did have a vast amount of outs on the turn through a straight draw too. I was seriously stacked up now and increased it further when I stacked another two people (small and medium stacked respectively). And then all of a sudden I went card dead on the final table, I couldn't really bully too much either, as I wasn't getting even speculative hands, it was 9 max, and there were two others not too far away in their respective chipstacks. Blinds became incredibly large to the point where most people were on 8-10 BB. The one hand I did raise (AQ) under the gun met a reraise all in, and after thinking (hoping) he wouldn't do that with AJ, I made a fold as I decided he must have 1010+. I layed it down face up, the bloke said good fold and showed AK. That made me happy.

After another while I pushed K5s from the SB into tens which pissed me off epicly. I keep telling myself it was unlucky as I had him covered (not by much) and that he would only call on perhaps the top 20-25% of hands at best. Needless to say I went out for a pathetic 50 quid.

Jokerstars has been going ok, roll stands at $101 but I must confess I have been playing 10c/25c, but playing steadily if I say so myself. Just hope it continues. Hope everyone is going ok. x
